There’s quite a bit about it on the duck hunting groups on FB. No one coming out and saying it directly but lots of references to maybe some sort of overdose.

 

I may be mistaken, I Believe he won the duck calling contest in Stuttgart as well.

He was booked into Faulkner Co jail on the 8th, and later died there.

 

Antonio and I went to school together. He was 32 years old and lived an up and down life to say the least. Never a lack of entertainment when he was around though. Sad deal regardless of who it is to see drugs take another life.

I'm several years older than Antonio but grew up in the same area. Hunted with him a few times at Bayou Meto. He could blow a duck call for sure.

I was told that prior to being arrested he ingested the drugs he had in his possession so as not be caught with them. Rowdyrabbit's story (above) would make sense then.

 

That’s the exact story I was told. Said he was picked up for back child support and then took them and OD’d. Sad

 

I saw today where Tyler Merritt of echo calls is in poor health as well and has been since late July. Bad summer for my generation’s duck callers.
