HOGFAN, I want to know how you get that little stutter step in your kwacks. That kwack-uh, kwack-uh, kwack-uh sound. I've been blowing cutdowns for a couple years now and I don't know what that's all a/b. I just snap my notes off sharp. I don't know how to get that little stutter.

Air control...... you pinch the air down at the end to get that "louisiana style" sound. Helps to have a call tuned for that style calling when your learning.......once you learn how most any decent call will put that little squeal on the end...

One of my favorite techniques late season was to hit ducks with three low lazy notes, then cut myself off with a bouncing hen with that squeal at the end......... do it on call shy ducks late in the season......but let them get out further from the hole so you can get aggressive with the second part......then if they turn shutup or make very low duck noise.

You might hafta shoot them treetop high, but you can turn hard to call ducks with stuff like that...... even in late January they haven't heard many humans making that sorta duck noise.....

I'm pretty sure they call that a bouncing hen in some circles.

Yes it is called a bouncing hen or some people call it a hiccup call. This call is so much fun to run. I'm currently in NW Mississippi. If anyone is around me and wants to run it shoot me a PM and we can meet up. I'll be up here all week. I know you want to clarkduck!
