What brand ammo and grain have yall had the best groups with?
150 GRAIN remington corelok. 1" at 100 yds out of a HR Handi Rifle.
I figured that was good enough. I haven't shot any more brands.
I've been shooting the Core Loks in the 180gr and been real pleased. There's 3 different kinds of c/l in 180's you have to have the Remington number to get the best one?not sure why they do that. For cutovers and power/gas lines my friends use Hornady's 150gr. They also make several of those and some are better than others.
Federal 168gr Match Boat-tail Hollowpoints!!!
In whatever I shoot 'em out of!!!
pokey, with the 3 different kinds of c/l ammo, are the boxes different or something. how do you know which kind you are getting?
HORNADY, 168gr a-max sub moa
There's some small numbers on the end of the box. I was mistaken, there's 2 different ones. R308W2 and R308W3 are the numbers on the end of the box. There's a big difference between the 2, I think the W2's are the better ones.
Anything from the factory in 168gr, and 168gr also when i hand roll them. I go for 168gr AMaxes with 42.6gr of VARGET, also sub-moa.
I can get sub MOA with remington AccuTip 165gr. Perform will too.
Remington Core Locs in 150 grain, shoots great.
Federal Gold Metal Match 168 grain! These use the Sierra 168 Match Kings and by far are the best bullets made IMO. I also load 168 and 175 grain Sierra Match Kings and get sub MOA.
155 gr hornady a-max loaded to 2650 fps.:up: I can shoot two hole groups at 100 yds!!!!!! got pics to prove it also
150 gr . rem . core loks:biggrin::flag:
By far the most accurate factory ammo available. :thumb:
My Savage 12 won't shoot Federal GMM worth a damn. Hornady Custom Match for me 168 Gr BTHP. .75 MOA all day
Load my own....don't have to worry about it.
It helps to own the best .308 Winchester ever made..... A Pre-64 Model 70.
