22LR ammo testing

Tried some different ammo out over the last few days. Tikka T1x last week, Bergara B14r today.

Here’s the raw results. All groups are 10 rounds at 50 yards except one. Some ammo was pretty good, others get relegated to the blasting ammo box. Probably the worst in these 2 rifles was the Aguila SV. It was so bad in the Bergara that I quit the second round after 4 shots. The first target on the left side was used for the first rounds with the new ammo. I do a minimum of 10 rounds to season the barrel with the new lube.

The top 4 targets are just checking sights, testing and some are different ammo one one target. The dime on each target is for reference.

Pretty nice shooting. Banging steel with 22 is as good as it gets. Did you use your reticle on that last plate?
This particular scope reticle only goes to 20 MOA. I need 25 MOA at 200 yards. I didn’t dial elevation since I was just burning ammo. It was strictly Kentucky holdover. 😂😂

I didnt think I heard any clicking going on. Dont always have time to dial. Good to practice hold over now and then

If you are running under the clock it’s good to know holdover. I don’t mind dialing when I have time but knowing both methods is good.

Outstanding..Good Shooting....
We shot for a couple of hours yesterday. My daughter had never shot the Bergara before yesterday. After a couple of hours shooting steel out to 200 yards she shot what we call the Green Monster target at 50 yards.

She said she wants this rifle.

My Tikka doesn’t like subsonic or standard velocity ammo very well. Shoots cci segmented hp’s well enough to kill squirrels, but not where I like it to be. Shot several types this evening through my new suppressor. Most were unimpressive, but Norma Tac-22 subsonic shot well enough for squirrel killing. 10 shot group at 40. Adjusted it right and up a bit and it’s pretty deadly now.

No u will ketch me and Win....
CCI segmented is Good Stuff...Invested a lot of Stock in CCI.....Good Hunting....
Put new glass on the Tikka today, not sure why, but I did it anyway. Shot every type of 22 ammo I had in stock.
Tikka T1x 16in barrel, Vortex Diamondback 3.5x10x50, chaos gear hydra-AL suppressor
40 yards, 5 shot groups, lead sled, laying on my fat belly in back of truck.
Sighted in with Norma subsonic, just a tad high at 40 yard’s before shooting these groups.

Excuse my hand writing but hopefully it’s readable. CCI quiets suck substantially in my gun, thats the chicken scratch on first target, they hit the target below where I was aiming. Evidently, Remington thunderbolts don’t like the suppressor, they usually shoot exceptionally well in this gun.
Few things I learned. Non- subsonic ammo seems to shoot a bit high and right. Everything Norma, except the eco-speed, was subsonic. Eley match, subsonic, expensive, and worth it. No chronograph or decibel meter involved, just a mostly deaf, fat man with his gun.
