I’ve drove that road more times that can count and always hated the drive after dark.
Did you go up north of there and see some moose ?

Didn’t go north of Lander. No moose, but saw a few elk.

We drove through farson back in early august.
Saw this giant bull elk between farson and rock springs.

A lot of the locals swear the biggest bulls are on those flats, and I’ve seen some dandy bulls on 191. In late winter, you will see huge herds thru there

That's funny.
We left yellowstone and drove thru the tetons and jackson hole looking for elk and moose.
Around farson my son said I guess we're out of elk country now.
I said yeah, we arent going to see anymore elk.
It wasn't 30 minutes and we saw that dude standing in the wide open 100 yds or so off the road.
Sae another group of about 6 just before we got to rock springs.
Not a tree for miles.

If you came thru Pinedale, I’m surprised you didn’t see any moose along the river, although I’ve probably seen more just south of Evanston or north of Yellowstone around Tom Miner.

We went through at mid day.
Surprised to see the elk.
Saw hundreds of antelope though.

Driven through there many times! Went that way on summer family vacation this summer, and I think we passed more bicycles than cars.

Cheating I know but this was my last goat hunt 2 years ago (Wyoming). Friend and I drew tags but he backed out a week before we left so I loaded the wife and kids up and off we went. One of my favorite pictures ever, was spitting rain and cold as all get out. Kids had a blast.

Had that happen to me once. Damned thing flew across the highway right in front of me. I think we were both going about 70.

Did you kill it on public or private?
I'm looking at going next year and ive been seeinf where 38 is easy to draw but hard to find a place to hunt because its mostly private ground.

I was on private, but there's some public here and there. Not sure how much.
