I haven't Duck hunted since way back in the day when lead shot was legal, so I haven't had much personal experience with Steel Shot. I know a lot of duck hunters use heavy alloys rather than steel shot and that most of them prefer 3" or 3 1/2" rounds.
So here's where I could use some input.
I came across a bunch of 2 3/4" Steel Shot recently and I'm wondering if it would be effective for duck hunting?

2 3/4” #4s are deadly over decoys. I was hunting wood ducks on a minnow pond a few years back when 4 Canada Geese flew over about 40 yards out, & maybe 30 yards up. Killed the first two clean, one with each barrel of my Mod/IC Superposed. I was shocked, but they were stone dead.
