I just bought a box of Barnes 150 grn TSX bullets for a planned WY Mule Deer/Pronghorn hunt next year. Bought TSX because the 180's shoot so well in my rifle.

Anyone have any pet powder/primer combintions for this weight bullet???

    Thanks...

let me know how it does. I have some plan on reloading for next yr. does anyone reload the 130 Barnes X, if so what powder and how many grains?

  3. I have shot some 150's in mine but I like 180's better.

I have two 300 Mag's. One in a WBY and the other H&H. Can't give you a Win-Mag recipe but I can tell ya that IMR 4831 really performed well in my old 300 WinMag. There are powders out there that will get you faster speeds out of the muzzle but the IMR 4831 really closed the groups at 100yds.

I have a nearly full can of 4831 on the shelf.

    Thanks.

I've had good results with IMR 4831 and Alliant REL22. My rifle shot better with REL22 using 150 and 180 gr bullets. Each rifle has it's own likes.

I have the RL22 on the shelf, too.

The nice thing about working on new loads this time of the year is the range is virtually deserted and the barrel cools quickly.
