Hodgdon Longshot and a good bullet will get you what you need. I use it with both 185 and 190 grain cast bullets. Never tried any other powder since it gave me the velocity/accuracy I needed.

I already have too many guns (according to my wife), but the next one I buy will probably be a 10mm 1911 (if anyone still makes one). I have always been intrigued by that round. From what I understand, they fall somewhere between .357 and .41 Mag ballistics, which is pretty impressive in a semi-auto round.

From shooting my G40 across the chronograph, I would say it definitely falls between the .357 and .41. I reload using cast bullets in an aftermarket barrel and push 185's at a shade over 1300fps and 190s at 1250fps. Recoil feels similar to a 6" .357 pushing 158's to 1200fps. So what's not to love, it's almost like a 15 shot .357 magnum +P.
