I know it's been discussed before - but let's hear it. If you see a Mountain Lion/Cougar.....can you kill it? Anything in the G&F regulations about it?
Seems like this thread has ventured from the original post. Six years ago, I was standing on the ground, next to a tree in AZ, and saw a mountain lion walking through the woods toward me. All I had was my bow in my hand, as it had closed the distance to eleven yards. As it had not spotted me yet, my only concern was to not let it get 2 or 3 steps away and startle it and it attack in self defense. So I raised my bow. When it saw my movement, it stopped and just stared at me for a few minutes, then continued in its path. Normally, I would have a tag, or might have considered the SSS principle, but that year I had an upcoming elk hunt tag, I did not want to risk losing. So did I ever feel threatened, No. Would I be willing to bet that I was much, much closer to the animal than the "felt threatened" hunter near Hermitage who shot one, absolutely
