Just got settled in. The temp is dropping rapidly and the wind is dying down. Gonna catch some zzz’s and hope to see the big botched buck when the sun starts to pop.
Up and headed to the public land where I saw an absolute giant Friday morning. Hoping he comes back through this morning. He trailed a doe to 10 yards on Friday but I hadn't been in the stand for a minute. Maybe the high winds the past couple days had him bedded up somewhere close by.
Shot a big doe last night. Tracked her for 1.5 last night and lost blood trail. Will hunt this morning for a little while and then head back in to that stand and try to find her. Thankfully the temps dropped last night so she should still be good
Just checked wind and my powder is swirling. Not sure what that means for me but it cant be good haha. I was planning on sitting until dark but am not sure now.
Just popped a big Nannie doe. Seen 6 since I got here about 20 min ago. Guess I’m hunting big horns now so I don’t tag out at this lease before thanksgiving(zone 14, 2 doe with MG).
I just got locked in where I've been seeing all the chasing the last few days and just realized I forgot my binos...maybe she'll bring one by for a close look
Back in tree saw one chasing Friday right before dark.Hopefully he'll cross the draw and get in range this evening.Should be about peak rut for my area.good luck everyone
Ive had a bitter sweet day. Saw some chasing and some cruising, 4 nice gobblers, and around noon caught a limb and missed a very nice 8pt. Still got another hour, fingers crossed. Buck in the pic is not the one I missed. Unfortunately he was much bigger
Im up in spot i hit and lost buck back in oct. i probably wont see him nor have another shot at a 150” or anything close to it again. It happens. All part of bow hunting i suppose.
