Just got settled in the blind where I made the bad shot on Thursday. Still trying to get used to videoing my hunts, so today I forgot my tripod. One less thing to worry with this morning I reckon. 36* here in Marion Co. Good luck and God bless ya'll this morning.
I just passed on 2 nice 2.5 yr old 8 pts. Hardest thing i ever done!! Looked like twins. Starting to wonder if that was a mistake. I just know that are a lot bigger bucks around.
It sounds like you have a fantastic piece of ground to hunt. There is no doubt the sacrifices you make today will pay off in the future. As for me, I've just about got a chill, and if these two doe don't move along this hunt is about to come to an end!
Think I'm gonna get out of the blind and go check the ponds and look for buzzards again. Take a break for a few hours and come back. I have my camper parked out here all the time so I can just go crash theee for a while.
I am sitting tonight out. I found some circling buzzards, so I went after them. I searched hard for that buck most of the afternoon. Didn't see nothing of him. Now I'll need a col days for my hips and back to recoup.
Walked around 600 yards into the woods to get up behind a thicket. Nice a 8 point came in 60 yards and a doe is out feeding. Not shooting unless it’s a big one this far in
I often do. For whatever reason, been in a drought this year. I haven't been seeing much wildlife in general. And it's certainly not for lack of looking!
Heard some soft grunting and saw a deer slipping through some thick stuff. Heard more grunting behind , and a buck came up chasing what I assume was a doe. Couldn’t see much headgear, just enough to know it was a buck.
