This is just one of the many big bucks I saw today at The Great Smokey Mountain National Park!
Probably 1/3 of my bucks are still holding both sides. SW AR
NE Arkansas. Pulled a camera today and still have a few bucks holding horns. Ironically I've got a couple on cam with a few inches of new growth.
Been shed hunting a few times but then I check the cams and still see deer with antlers. I can only scratch my head.
My older ones have dropped and younger hanging on still.
I'd highly recommend a trip to the Smokeys with a visit to Cades Cove! You'll see lots of big racked deer maybe black bear, turkey and some beautiful mountains. They've also preserved some 1800's home places and church buildings. I can't remember all of the big bucks we saw on one evening!
Beautiful thanks for sharing
You didn't happen to be at a Senior's Retreat there this past Monday through Wednesday did you?
Same place you were at this week. Doesn't appear to be the same buck though.
Nope. Just a family getaway.
Been there a couple of times. Hiked to most of the falls in the area. Did the fire do much damage to the forest?
I saw one in Illinois today that hasn't dropped yet.
My son saw a nice buck today that had 1 side.
I had a small 8 pt on cam two days ago - still had both sides.
I didn't see any evidence from the big fire. I guess I didn't go to the right place. I thought I did at Cade's Cove but it was a controlled burn near the Abrams Trail.
Well, as of yesterday he still hasn't dropped. Sorry for the crapy pic (taken with an iPhone through one side of 10x binos), but if you zoom in you can see his rack sticking up above the fence he's bedded next to. Watched him for a few minutes but didn't think to try and get a pic til after he laid down. His rack looked exactly the same size & shape as the one in your pic TT. X2 on Cade's Cove, it was awesome.
