I killed 2 possums yesterday. One ran out in front of me on the road at 10 03 yesterday morning. The other was trying to get in my hen house last night.
Having eggs in 3 coops getting holes in them. Can't figure this one out! The hole is about the size of a BB.
We had a hen last year that would peck holes in the eggs in nest box.
I killed 3 possums and one dillo last night on 65 north
That would have to be 3 different hens, in 3 separate coops all of a sudden doing the same thing at the same time! ????
Them snakes eat very good?
Do you swerve to try and hit them?
If your chicken is pecking eggs, get some plastic easter eggs and fill them with chicken poop. Clean the outside and put them in the nest box. It will solve the problem.
Sounfs like some sort of egg eating vampire for sure.
Will horse poop work?
If that chicken gets a beak full of any poop, I bet it will work! Yuck!
So, are you making this up or does it work? I have this problem too. If I knew which one is doing it I'd have done killed it.
I ground the points of the beaks of 2 hens I suspected of doing it and put them in a separate coop together...the each lay an egg a day, and it's still happening to their eggs! Yesterday an egg in another coop was poked, hole is usually about 1/8" I have to chunk any egg that has that tiny hole!
don't think that will work. free range chickens are always diging around in piles of crap and eatin it
