Sept. 8, 2013 - MYSTERY GROWS IN BIG NEW MEXICO ELK DIE-OFF
September 5, 2013 - “Mystery grows in big New Mexico elk die-off.”
- Albuquerque Journal, Front Page, Thursday, September 5, 2013
“I've never seen anything like this. And I've talked with other
wildlife biologists who've seen large die-offs, and I've not run across
anyone who has seen anything of this magnitude.”
- Kerry Mower, Wildlife Health Specialist, NM Dept. of Game and Fish
This aerial image was taken on August 27, 2013, on private land 20 miles
north of Las Vegas, New Mexico, after more than 100 elk were all found
dead in less than 1 square mile. NM Dept. of Game and Fish investigated.
Anthrax and epizootic hemorrhagic disease were ruled out, leaving the puzzle:
what killed so many animals so quickly in such a short period of time?
Ranchers more than likely poisoned them, they hate elk cause they compete for grass with cows.
Well from reading the comments at the bottom of the page, it looks to me that they have the most diverse and paranoid group available trying to figure this one out. The theories range from, a government conspiracy to starve us out and make us dependent on the state by killing off the herds, to "the rapture" and one level headed individual suffering from a mild case of schizophrenia, claims that it's the work of extraterrestrials. I didn't read all the comments so I'm not sure as to rather the "bigfoot" professionals have taken time out of their busy day to evaluate the situating and submit their findings.
