That's the right attitude! And you shouldn't have to go far. They're there to be had in AR. Not behind every tree, but they're there. I've seen big deer in the woods before, and boy was that exciting! And to me, it's just as exciting to see a doe walk out in a shooting lane and within range - double that if I have a doe tag handy! I don't blame anyone for wanting more or better or anything, but when it might affect me and what/how I enjoy something I'll speak up. Not that it matters all that much, since none of us are the policy makers anyway

I'm gonna try to shoot me a big deer this fall at Choctaw Island WMA. It's my 7th year, so I should be about next in line for the MG hunt. if I do, I'll let ya know if it changes MY opinion

Correct me if I am wrong but isn't the Delta already "owned" by the rich?
Don't they all ready get special treatment because they have power??
I don't see this happening .......

And I will!

I live & own land right slap dab in the middle of what is considered the Delta

I am not Rich by no means!

The only special treatment I recieve in my area is I and alot of other private landowners who fit the same bill as me is we have to be the first to be the test subjects for all of the special wants of those who do not live here & only slip out of their suits & put on camo to show up for 2 months out of the year because they,-----

Have the Power because I have none!!!!!

Amen to that! Nobody likes my idea of raising bigger bucks by a limit of only one deer every ten years and only one 8 pt. or better for a lifetime by any method. It'll work. How many points a deer has doesn't affect how the meat tastes, does it? Maybe we should try a camera season only on one of the better WMA's. The hunters "kill" can be recognized and awarded. It's just as difficult to get a good pic as it is to shoot him. There would be some awesome antlers then!

So I wasn't really wrong.......the suits have the power.....

But I kind of feel your pain....I work all year on our leases...and for two months folks show up and don't ave have a clue where they are and hunt all the public land in the area....which isn't a problem.....but they always seem to get lost or want to get as close to ME as possible.
And like just today some thug or thugs messing around decide to break into something.......like my friends old ragged camper!!!!!
I guess that is part of it!!!!!

The vast majority of Arkansas does NOT have anything near the potential for growing big bucks as the rest of the "big deer" states. We do not have even decent soils as a rule. Very small percentage of our land mass is anything close to good deer habitat compared to the "big deer" states.

Far too many of us have "big buck fever"......myself included. However, I never believed that my choices and practices concerning deer management and harvest on my property should be forced on the hunting public.

I will agree that we do have potential for harvesting bigger bucks here in Arkansas than we have in the past. You're right, bucks need to mature to realize their antler potential. And.........you can make a difference.....harvest management boils down to the individual shooter.....bow or firearm......if you want to shoot bigger bucks don't shoot little bucks.
