This turkey season, I was chasing birds and came across one of the prettiest oak bottoms I've ever seen in the Ouachita's, several ridges falling off into it, really open, just a gorgeous spot...good enough that I ignored a gobbling bird long enough to scout potential stand sites for a few minutes. That morning a truck had come in on me just as I was walking in the woods but turned around as soon as it saw my truck and later that day, my buddy tells me it was him. I proceed to tell him about my morning and about the bottom I had found. He inquires a little harder about where it was and when I told him, he informs me that was where his brother killed his 180" 10 pt last year and asked if I saw his stand? I told him no and that I was sorry but I wasn't trying to creep in on his brother, that I had no idea he hunted there but that I found it on my own, fair and square and that I would most likely be hunting in there. THen, a few days later, his brother stops by my house talking about how he heard I found his spot and again informs me that he has a stand in there and I told him the same thing, that, not trying to be a jerk, but I found it completely unaware and was planning on hunting it.

I asked a buddy about it and he said he wouldn't go in there if he knew someone else hunted in there out of respect but I'm sorta of the thought that "it's public land" so if his truck aint there in the morning, it's fair game.

Whatchall think?

All is fair or respect "His" spot?

He stood there and ate and ate while I set up my camera. I was starting to wonder if I would have any left by the time my camera was ready. I had to literally run him off of the rice bran when I got ready to leave. He was absolutly stuffed when we left and I fed him tonite about 8 and he wouldn't touch his food. Ever seen this before?
