I got seven. Mainly in hickory trees. Got four out of one tree. When I was skinning them out I found two babies inside one of them. I've never seen one that was carrying this late.

I went this morning. I thought I had half a box of 20 guage shells but I could only find four. One of them was badly corroded but I took it anyway. I use a 20 guage single shot squirrel hunting and I put the corroded shell in first. When I fired it sounded like a poof instead of a boom. That squirrel got away but my other 3 shells payed off and I came home with 3 squirrels and had to leave one squirrel in the tree that I killed the last one from. That is about all I wanted to clean anyway. Right now they are on the stove boiling. Gonna have dumplings for supper tonight. :thumb: Now I have to buy another box of shells.

I went, and only came home with a bunch of damn chiggers and ticks. I did see a litttle fawn about 15 yds away. I was thinking about them tenderloins. I guess I"ll have to wait just a little longer. Come on october.....

My bro and I went this mornin (sunday). This was his first hunt, and he got his first one at around 7:30. Altogether we brought home 3 of them, which should be enough for us. But it was a fun mornin all around.

Me and my son went this morning and both got our limit by 8:00, It's very dry down here in the saline river bottoms we sounded like a heard of cows coming through the woods also seen 4 hogs, all were about 50-75 lbs. :thumb:

I met up with ozark_squirrel hunter and retired out at Sunlight Bay on Nimrod. I got there just as they were about done hunting, but we saw lots of cuttings under some oaks. They got 1 between the 2 of 'em :smack: I went back out around 10ish and saw a couple, but couldn't get a bead on 'em. They were just too quiet and weren't moving much. I did manage to shoot a 4-5ft black snake...that sucker scared the tar outta me!

They cooked me a nice crappie lunch, I guess as a consolation prize :thumb: Fish even showed up, so I got to meet him too. Nice to finally meet some of the fine folks from the forum!

We have a good number of squirrels in the bottoms cutting hickory nuts. But with all the leaves ands ground so dry it is tuff to get in range. Them little rats can really hide up a hickory full of leaves. After a few leaves fall and a good rain things should change. They have been wild and I would prefer to hunt later in late Oct. or early Nov. As this is when the last crop of young'ns usually appear out. The leaves thin and makes hunting easier. The hickory trees are so tall ,shotguns don't have the range to reach some.Tuff seeing them early in my rifle scope as woods so shaded this early.
Took 4 squirrels Saturday with my rifle and 4 Monday with my shotgun.Hope it rains soon or I'll probably wait about hunting again.
Sure would like to thank Ozark squirrel hunter and Retired for cook'n some great fish and taters! Had a good visit and would like to invite them back later to hunt. Also was good to meet Wes Ramsey, So far everyone on the forum I've met has been great. Looking forward to meeting more forum members. :thumb:

I didnt get to go till this afternoon and ended up with 4.

If I had taken a shotgun instead of a 22 I could have probably gotten a limit but 4 is about all I wanted to clean anyway.
