Is anyone attending this meeting? Is anyone allowed to attend? From what I understand they are suppose to make a decision on a few Deer seasopn related issues.

Gravy, I know I am working that day, so I won't be able to attend. They should be voting on the deer season proposal brought up last month.
The meeting is a open meeting to the public, anyone can attend..

I attended the meeting this morning. All of the proposals looked to have passed. The hunting deer with dogs issue will be discussed in the Commissions April meeting. I also heard abit of good news for south Arkansas hunters. If I understood this right a proposal has been approved to purchase 60,000 acres from Potlatch in south Arkansas for hunters to have access to. I don't know the specifics as to where this acreage is located exactly but they seemed very excited about it. I'll try and gather more information and pass it on.

Thanks Gravy. I am tickled that they are buying some land down south. I hope it is in a large tract and not a bunch of broken up pieces without access. Even if it is at least it is a start.
Way to go Commissioners. I am sure we will all be very thankfull for more land to hunt. If lease pieces go up much more many folks will be looking for new places to hunt. Keep it up.

The Arkansas Democrat Gazette has the story of the land in south Arkansas today in the sports section. The land is in Calhoun and Bradley Counties, 60,000 acres.
