I shoot squirrels with a Remington Nylon 66 .22cal semi auto or if I want to have more of a challenge then 1919 Husqvarna single shot .22cal with a 25 inch octagon barrel. Heck of a shooter. Me and a buddy from Ashflat shoot them for squirrels

My son and I hunt with identical Marlin 17VS rifles chambered in 17 HMR. Both are topped with Simmons AETEC 3.8x12x44AO scopes.

They shoot tiny gorups at 50 yards.

With a shotgun  Remington 870 w/ #6 shot. You do not have to wait for them to stop. Shot them on the run and when they jump from tree to tree.

Them texas squirrels are easy, no one hunts em around here so you can pretty much just walk up on em. Hardest part is dodging the police when the folks living in the sub-division get tired of ya shooting their pets.

Use the 4's in arkansas. Some of them trees are tall and I have lost too many squirrels with 6. Knock em outta the tree and think you got em and they disappear on ya. Maybe I am just a bad shot, need glasses to find em, or both.

The nice thing about the 17 is that if you miss 'em, you still might burn 'em outta the tree...

with a rifle like that, you wouldn't have to skin , gut, or cook your squirrel. Shoot em and have BBQ

Marlin Model 39A Article II if I hunt in Louisiana or Arkansas. In Texas I use a Remington 700 in 30-06 with a 180 gr corelock. Texas squirrels are harder to kill and wounded ones tend to attack.

I use a Marlin somethin semi auto with a 3-7x12 scope, or I use this little 22 that I have had since I was like 10 and it is also good for coon hunting since it is little and light.

Once the leaves thin out ,I love to slip around the bottoms with my 22 mag. It's a lever action winchester 22 magnum with a3x9x40mm bushnell scope. Sometimes when the squirrels are'nt to wild does'nt take long to get a limit. That extra range is great and shore hones up your shooting skills for deer season! :thumb:

Shotgun, used to use a Remington 1100 till I sold it. :smack:

And I haven't fired a shot from it! This spring, I'm going to use that old Model 34 Remington Sportmaster. It's probably killed more squirrels than most of us have even seen.

I hunt 'em with my Dad's old Remington 552 Speedmaster. Most accurate factory .22 I've ever shot. Will shoot a 2 to 2-1/2" group at 100 yards with CCI Mini-mags. I'm looking to get a .36 cal muzzleloader to add a little more of a challenge.
