Anyone on here been doing any snagging below the dams? Are the flatheads runnung yet? My dad can't snag now, so I might as well put his rigs to use.

If you can get below Muarry lock and dam you'll need deep-diving gear.

My hunting buddy and his nephew are into snagging. He caught a 32# flathead last week at Spillway at Blue Mountain Lake. They have caught several flatheads and a few blues from 6# to 20#. Water is flowing at 367', which is high and swift.

I was at Muarry today, there wasn't any snagger out there, I think the water was to high they couldn't get out past the wall on the damn side.
Did see a few guys catching Stripper on lures

Dardanelle is high was at Ozark yesterday and snagged some buffalo and small blues last week they caught some big blues in the 20-30lb range the water is high but the fish are there I wished I could afford a real snagging outfit the one I use is not real good but it works. Mountainbuck how do they snagg below Blue Mountain it is not a very big spot. Pgooch they are also catching a lot of blues bait fishing below Ozark.

Pee Wee, If you like to snag and have never been to the spillway at Blue Mountain Lake after the kind of rains we have just had, you are missing out. The way the spillway was cut through the mountain makes a perfect setup for snagging. The locals are well aware of it. You need to give it a try some time after a good spring rain.

I may have to try that this weekend. I love to snag just wish I could afford a good setup. There at the spillway do they snag off the top around the rail or what? It always looked like the water was way to fr down to do any good.

Pee Wee, I'll talk to my dad this week and see if he's willing to part with one of his rigs. I think he has 4 or 5. I'll let you know. pgooch

Yeah they are good to eat I ate some last night for supper fixing to eat some leftovers for lunch. I brought two home from Ozark wed. night one about 35lbs and one about 20lbs they are really starting to hit the flatheads at Ozark if the water would go down below the rail it would be perfect some 20-40 pound flatheads are being snagged.
