Cool fairweather - what's your launch order?
I'm a bit anxious about the tournament - I haven't had a chance to fish Greers much in the last few years. Even then, most of my previous experience was in the Fall....
My buddy will be making only his second trip up there ever unless we get to fish this Saturday (likely).
Hope we have good weather.

I'm not fishing there I was just responding to the tip that nlrrailroader gave you, I know him and he usually knows what to throw. Sorry for the confusion.

I have a lakehouse on Greers and having been fishing there for 20 years.. Last weekend me and my buddy caught some great fish. The blacks were hitting sinko's in 12-15 feet ft. Watermelon. The smallies were on carolina rig lizards. Watermelon. And the better fish we caught on a new color gitzit. PM me and I will give you more info if you want it. Also caught some post spawn bass on topwater. The fish really shutdown about 10 but picked back up around 5. Good Luck!

Well...it didn't go great for us....
We caught 7 bass - but only weighed in one - a spotted that was 1.24lbs
We were the lowest total at weigh-in. There were about 70 teams and we finished #47 - that means that 23 teams that didin't weigh in any fish at all.
What amazed me - I would guess than around 50% of the fish weighed in were smallmouths! Only about 10% of the fish were largemouth, with the ballance being spots.
We went North from the Narrows - I guess that was our mistake. We just couldn't find co-operative fish.
The majority of boats went South.
My big question: Where did these guys find the smallies? Smallmouth are my favorite fish in the world to catch. My past experiences on Greers are almost entirely fall/winter trips. At this time of year, I feel rather clueless.
I will say - I was surprised that the "money" spots went down to weights of around 5 lbs (5 fish limit). Even a legal limit of spots would have been in the money....
Tournament is passed - but I sure would like some coaching as to the best areas for smallies!
