What is your favorite fish to catch and eat? I used to fish alot of bass tournaments but I tired of fishing competetivly. I have 2 favorite fishes, crappie and catfish. I like to fish for crappie from fall to spring but in the summer I fish for catfish.

10,999th- Stripers (The only way I've found them edible-Cook them on a cedar board in a smoker for two hours marinated in lemon juice and butter, salted well, take them out of smoker, let cool, throw away striper and eat the board.)

Hey Mountainbuck, Have they got Spring Lake stocked back up now? Use to catch a lot of fish there, but haven't fished there in years.

No, It's not real good. Fair Brim fishing and Channel Cats, I would lot rather fish Cove Lake or Cedar-Piney.

Love me some big-ole-bumpyheaded bluegill. The kind that pisses all over you when you try to get them off the hook. Also can't deny those good ole crappie. Love to catch bass however. Leaving early in the morning for a tourney.

If it swims then it is good to well almost, I like all fish to eat but would have to rate trout very low on my list. probably my favorites are bream crappie and catfish, however I am becoming a fan of spoonbill I just grilled some yesteday and it was grat! Rattle where did you snagg your spoonbills at? I brought two home yesterday from Ozark on about 40lbs and 0ne about 25lbs. Mountainbuck you can put any boat and motor combo on Paris city lake you want to. I have fished this lake all my life and it is great, right now they are killing the crappie out there take about thiry minutes to catch a limit if you know the lake no big slabs just good eaters. Ther is some huge catfish inthere I have caught some 20lb blues on jugs. Mountainbuck you crappie fish Cove lake much there are some hog slabs in there and I never see anyone else fish for them but me and a couple of the guys I convinced that they were there also a ton of catfish in there all blues and channels no flatheads the Paris city lake has flatheads gut caught a 28lber last weekend while crappie fishing.

Yeah PeeWee, I have caught some great crappie out of cove lake. I couldn't believe it myself when I found them a few years ago. Black Crappie, really good slabs and pretty. I have also had some great redear fishing there. Normally while redear fishing we always pick up a few nice channel catfish. Like you, usually I'm the only one fishing for them when I'm there. I've fished there many times and been the only boat on the lake. Me and an older friend of mine called it our own private honey hole, because no one else ever fished it.

Come on you guys! Trout, walleye, bream, catfish, bass, crappie? Ya'll gotta be kidding! Don't ya think all those fish are just a little on the BLAH side?
My favorite fish would have to be the Southern red tailed Mer
I saw my first one when I was just a kid in South Arkansas and have been fishing for them ever since.
The best way to catch them is by trolling after dark.
All parts are delicious if kept hot, but my most favorite part is the tail.
There's 2 species of this fish. The Merman and the Mermaid. And although some screwed up fishermen no doubt prefer the Merman (Yuk!), I, without question, prefer the Mermaid!
Sure beats Drummmmmmm fishin' graemlins/thumb.gif

Ate some chain-pickeral the other day...not to bad. Caught them on Ouachita, didn't know how to clean them really, so I just gutted and scaled them and pulled skin off later...cut em into stakes...little bony but good flavor.
