There is nothing like hitting a big head carp of any size. This is the hardest fighting fish in the water. I snag at the St. Francis Spill Way mostly and my largest Big Head is 52 lbs. I have caught a 67 lb Spoonbill. And several others.
I have had fish on that would go over 80 lbs but did not land them. (yes I had witnesses) It is
one of the most fun sports out there. It stinks now with the 2 fish spoonbill limit. After you catch two spoons you are done. This time of year that could be in 5 min. Good Luck in your new sport.

I do a little snagging at the St.Francis river siphons. Biggest I ever snagged and landed was a flathead that would go a little over 20 lbs.

You get some big ass hooks, real strong line, heavy duty rod&rell, find a dam or spill way of some type, tie your sinker on the end of your line and tie your hook about a foot or so up from your sinker, then toss your line out into the running water, let it sink, and then yank it real hard again and again and again, untill you get a fish. graemlins/thumb.gif

I went back to Ozark this morning and the water was just too high to snagg. Yeah hitting in fish in that swift current is like hitting a truck with your hook just hang on and enjoy the ride.
