Does anyone know how to get rid of tall dry weeds that have taken over my pond. Pond is about an acre in size...hard to fish around banks, lost a 3-pound bass this afternoon because of this dang broomstraw crap.

Here is a product I see advertised in my electric co-op magazine. I dont know if it works or not and what effect it may have on fish. Reason it caught my attention is cause my pond tends to get full of algae, was thinking of trying this stuff but am going to move the pond around this summer. Will wait till I get that done before I tackle the algae problem. Here is the link to their website:

I've got a 1/2 acre pond in front of my house. Algae problem got bad. I put 5 White Amurs (Grass Carps) in a couple of years ago and cured the problem. They cost me 8$ apiece, but well worth it. The first year I noticed the algae problem was a lot better. The second year algae was gone.

Here it is, I can recommend this site. They have a toll free number 800-843-4748 . Call them and see when they will deliver close to you. Just to make it clear, I am not affilated with these people in anyway.

Depending upon the vegetation in your pond, just because it is a grass carp, it's diet isn't limited to just unwanted grass. Remember, nutria were brought in to help contain vegetation as well (down here in Louisiana anyway).
