Fishing

Went fishing for a couple of days at Lake Catherine, just south of Hot Springs. Didn't catch many fish but I know I saw at least 20 deer. More Deer than I saw all during hunting season. Sounds about typical for me. smile.gif

All the deer you saw was probably in the Diamondhead area. It is a gated community where hunting isn't allowed. Also there are a few camps in the area where hunting isn't allowed. A few years ago Diamondhead allowed bow hunting by special permit to help with the deer problems in the community. My wife and I had some friends living there and the deer would be laying beside the road and just look at you. The residents of the community couldn't raise plants outside because the deer would eat them. The deer would go onto porches and carports and get into everything. I worked on a job at the Methodist camp just up the lake from Diamondhead and would see deer almost every day. Too bad there is no public hunting in the area. Hey, maybe they will open up Lake Cathering State Park to hunting. :D

Yeah, saw all the deer from Diamondhead to inside the state park. All the deer looked small, Overpopulated??
