View Full Version : New Crappie Regs at Lake Charles

There is a new reg that says all crappie under 10 inches must be released immediately. Don't know what they are trying to accomplish but the majority of crappie that I catch in that lake are under 10 inches so I guess catching a limit is out of the question now.

Texas went to a 10inch regulation several years ago and I think it has hurt crappie fishing.I have heard that crappie are some of the fastest reproducing fish and I believe you need to catch alot of those small ones to help control the population besides a 9 inch crappie makes for some good eaten.....

That is why I like fishing holes off the Mississippi River. No size limit and you are allowed 50 of them daily. I do not keep anything else than 8 inches though.

Man ya'll are making me hungry for some crappie gotta go fishing to get some though. Does anybody know if peckerwood is open yet?
