anyone one here ever do much jug fishin or trot lines?
We do a lot of Limb lining and jug fishing in the summer up here on Beaver. Last year on Memorial weekend we caught a 39.14lbs Flathead and a 19.08lbs blue with in 30 yards of each other. Beaver has some of the best catfishing around. We use small live perch and catch 8 - 15 a night on about 30 lines.

I do quite a bit of jug fishing on Paris City Lake and Cove lake. I have caught some 20 pound blues I only use live little perch and keep my drops short usually four foot or less.
Sure do start around late May. We usually use crawdads and shrimp. We used 1 quart oil bottles filled with sealeant foam with a two to three feet of line. Done real well this year.

oil bottles you know that'll get you in trouble don't ya
First of all they are completely drained and rinsed out and then refilled with sealant foam.

we use those foam noodles that kids play with in the swimming pool cut down into about 14 inch pieces, then put a piece of 1 inch pvc through the middle and cap it, when your done its easy to wrap the line around it and embed the hook into the noodle, plus its neat to see a fish on one, they lay down and when a fish gets on one, it stands staight up.

I use 2 liter coke bottles that have been painted neon orange on the inside. The Paint holds up better and they shine like a new penny when using a Q-beam at night. Depending on the time of year, we fish them at all different depths. I have had a lot of success with little perch/Shad.
It is almost that time of the year. I can taste the hush puppies already. :D
