Somebody give me a good crappie fishing report. It wouldn't take much for me to get the boat out of the garage and head to the lake. Some fresh crappie slabs sure would be good.
I was hoping we would have a fishing forum here,

how cool is this?? now we got a place to talk bucks, bass and slabs?? i will never get any work done now.
working on brushpiles this weekend, wont be long till hushpuppies and taters. YIPPEE!!!
I was hoping yall would use a fishing forum.
I dont ever get tired of talking about hunting myself but Im sure some do and this way they can talk about fishing a little bit if they want to.
Me and a buddy caught about 20 bass and crappie day before yesterday but it was in a private reservoir.
They were biting pretty good and theres no telling how many we could have caught if we had stayed longer.

The crappie had been biting pretty good on Lake Overcup until this last little warm spell...Maybe this cold snap will get them going again! They were also biting on Lake Conway earlier but when they opened the gates at the dam to flood the duck hunting area they slowed...Now that the duckers are out of the woods the lake should rise and hopefully get the slabs biting again.
We went back to the same reservoir today and even as cold and windy as it was we caught 41.
Probably 25 were crappie and the rest were bass.
I aint used to catching em quite this early but it sure was fun.

F B, Are you using Jigs or Minnows?
Jigs.
Today the hot one seemed to be one with a pink head and chartruese body.
The time before most of them hit a solid white one.
The strange thing about today was that most of the fish we caught were caught in an area about the size of a truck bed.
If you hit the spot , you caught a fish but if you missed it by more than a foot you wouldnt get a bite.
They were biting again yesterday (we caught close to 60) but today we only caught 4.
Maybe we've caught em all?

Everytime i get a day off, the weather is bad. Too dadgum cold and windy to fish. Beleive it or not Feburary is a hot catfishing month in small waterways.
I stood on the bank today, where FB and I have been fishing and caught 30 in alittle less than an hour.Solid white with a mister twister looking tail was the HOT bait today. We havent caught a crappie yet that wasnt a keeper,by that I mean border line slabs and bigger.

Will be some good eating, catching them out of that cold water. I'm off for several days after today, you've give me the fever. Guess I'll have to give them a try.
