How many of you watched the fight last night on HBO? Vitali Klitschko give Corrie Sanders a good lesson on the art of boxing. My son was arguing with me before the fight that Sanders would knock out Klitschko. I told him that Sanders was a street fighter and could probably whip his ass in a street fight, but that Vitali would simply take his time and out box Sanders. This was one of the best heavy weight fights I've seen in a while.

I missed that one. Boxing just aint what it used to be. I still like to watch the old tapes of Ali when he was boxing,he was the best there has ever been and ever will be in my opinion.

I'll agree that Ali was the greatest of his time, but right now we have some super boxers working there way up. Only time will tell. I just wish that Lennox Lewis would quit being such a baby and climb back in the ring. If he thinks he is the greatest, then prove it in the ring, not with his mouth.

We havent had a true great boxer since Evander Holyfield, all these othe guys have just been fighters. We really lack any ring tacticians. Boxing takes skill and obedience but fighting only takes a powerful punch and a good chin.
Thats what made Foreman have the sucess he had when he made his comeback,Foremans best offense was his defence wich is a big part of boxing.I know he wasn't that great but it kept him in the fight while giving him the chance to steal the fight in the end.

Although Cassius Clay, also conveniently known as Muhammad Ali, was indeed a great boxer boxing is not the first thing that comes to my mind when I think of him.
Ali was a draft dodger!
And although he finally got his 5 year sentence overturned with the aid of a bunch of high priced lawyers, in my mind that one act will forever outshadow anything else he may have done in life, just like Slick Willie!
I was appalled when he was invited to light the Olympic Flame. I still am.
Great boxer but not much of an American.

Now, now, WW. Ali converted to Islam. Remember this is supposed to be a peaceful religion. These are also the ones that we are now fighting, not just in Iraq, but all over the world. Personnaly, I couldn't stand the S.O.B. then, and I can't stand him now. I'd love to go a few rounds with him.

I cant condemn someone for a mistake in their life like ali did. We all have done things that someone may think are awful but that doesn't mean we are forever a bad person.
I dont remeber Ali ever doing anything like the islams over in Iraq and elsewhere. Just like any race or religion there are bad apples and there are good ones,we should'nt judge one for anothers mistakes.
The draft dodging was something I disagree with and I dont agree with his religion but this does not make him a bad person. I'll guarantee you there have been several self proclaimed southern baptist who have done a lot worse than him.
I think Ali has done more good in his life than bad. I've just always been one to try an see the good in a person and not just the bad.
Glad to see someone bring up boxing. As a kid it was my favorite sport. Every Ali match was a big deal, just as big as evil kneival. And all was done on public t.v. Now days I do not know who the hottest boxer is cause I wont pay to see it and dont keep up on my own time. As far as I am concerned the greatest sports are boxing and wrestling(not the stuff from wwf). One on one competition where you cant blame no one but yourself for losing. Would love to see a fight between ali and tyson each in their prime. Finesse against pure brute strength and no brain. I do wonder how many folks really do follow this sport in the day of pay-for-view. Doesnt seem to be the big deal it used to be.

Believe it or not, this is the one sport that my wife also enjoys. Whenever HBO or pay-per-view has a big fight, it's a family affair.

Who do ya'll think will win the fight between Bernard Hopkins and Jermaine Taylor? It's a big "IF" wether Hopkins will take this fight or retire. We'll know for sure in about 4-6 months. I really think Taylor could take him right now.
