Anyone out there have experience using tracking collars on dogs. I'm tired of hunting for dogs instead of birds. How well do they work? I see they are priced from $500-$1000.

Best investment you will ever make! I have the Innotek with 2 Grain Valley collars. I works like a charm but, I would really like to have the new Classic Tracker. It's small compact & fits on your belt. It runs $599 w/ two collars.

I don't even like to cut a pup loose without one on. For bird hunting, you probably want one you can carry. The one Marc suggested is OK, but there's still some controversy about their accuracy. Wildlife makes one that is about the 4" X 6" or so, and you can carry it with you too. They are definitely worth the money, and offer MUCH piece of mind when cutting expensive dogs loose...

I intend to get a Johnson collar as my next replacement. That, or a RATS. By most accounts, they are the best collars on the market...
