Anyone had really good luck this year hunting rabbits and does anyone out here hunt for rabbits without the use of dogs?

never have, i've gone with dogs that wouldn't hunt graemlins/thumb.gif does that count?

Thats just how I was raised,hunting with two or three guys and one of us was always designated as the dog for a while and when you got too tired someone else took over.

We killed many a rabbits that way.

This is the way this poor boy was raised too, no dogs. I even won two cases of beer from a guy who had and hunted with dogs. I killed more rabbits then he did out at Big Lake one day. This was to show him I was a better rabbit dog then the dogs he had. I took the north leeve he took the south leeve I killed 6 rabbits and he got 5 rabbits. I went down the south leeve and killed two more where he had already hunted with dogs.

One day five of us went out hunting and all five of us came back home with our limit.....NO DOGS.
Thats been about 15 years ago though.

you guys must have a lot of rabbits over there in east arkansas. its so thick around here that the only place you get many shots are on roads.

I don't use dogs either but I mainly like to go out after a good snow and we haven't had any this year so I haven't been.

deerhunter what do you guys do, walk canal ditches and jump them up? when i was real young we used to follow the combines around and wait for them to push the rabbits around. that worked real good. now i like to use dogs, mostly just to listen to them run.

all my brother, cousin and grandpa do is rabbit hunt, they use dogs and never carry a gun, they just like to hear em run.

Yes MUDDUCK we walk river banks and ditches and the occassional thicket or two.
