Up in the Northeast it is spotty. It seems like there is so much mast on the ground the squirrels are just totally spread out. You have to move constantly to see any number of squirrels.

I own about 125 acres in Sharp County and we are covered up with squirrels. We are taking a mess every time we (son and I) go up. I am seeing more this year that I have in the last couple of years. During the MZ season, I was wishing I had my 17HMR instead of the DISC.

I guess spotty would be the right word. I'm also from sharp county and we didn't have very many at all around here.

I took 36 squirrels this year, and saw a lot of them with one exception,I usually do very good at bayou deveiw but there seemed to be less there this year than in years past(a lot less).

I hunted one day at Bayou DeView, and did not see a single squirrel in about 2 to 3 hours of hunting. The skeeters about carried me back to the truck, though!!

I have usually done pretty good at the bayou, but this year I'm going to have to pass.

I've taken my oldest son twice and we have seen fewer squirrels and they have been spread over a larger area. Lots of walking...little shooting. :(

Big Lake WMA is covered up with them big fox squirrels if you just get off the paths a little ways. I usually see twenty or more everytime I am out there deer hunting. They are everywhere in the early morning evenings ain't they bad though. You all ought to come here and get rid of some of them just be careful I am the big nut sitting up the tree swatting at skeeters.

I only got 3 squirrels this time last here and WOW this year it looks infested with them. The Fox squirell at Chaffee is looking real good.

Maybe you all on the other side of hte state scared them and they packed up and moved to my side "west" :D

Dont worry I will scare them back.

I been hunting one time by my house killing three squirrels (1-fox & 2 grays) in one hour, all for them tough as leather boots. So needless to say I spend the rest of my time bow hunting, but there are times I wished I had my .22 rifle because in Pinetree WMA where I do some bow hunting the sqirrels are everywhere.

Hey B.Parsons

Have you been to Wattensaw lately? I go through that huge town of Hickory Ridge every time I go to Wattensaw. It seems like a lot of big trucks run off the road around that area. A couple of years ago a grain truck got nailed by a train, knocked the cab clean off the trailer and the motor was about 50 or 60 yards down the tracks.Looked pretty bad.
