saturdays fish

went to the "minnow farm" sat morning caught 10, kept these 8 for supper sat nite. that new Power Pro line does something to their mouths when you set the hook!

I caught me some o'them big'ole slabs yesterday...all mine were black, and were out in open water, where'd ya get that big one? On a bed or stick-up? ~j

i couldnt!!! that red eye mess. it flashes about 37 times before it takes a darn picture!! the more she took the more i closed my eyes. started to put on my welding hood. she took a picture of anna and dixie the cat, and dixie closed here eyes too. i must have cat like reflexes:thumb: BG12

john, they were right off the edge of the lilly pads, some were actually up in them. i would see the top of the pads shake, and drop a jig right beside it. i have 55lb test braided power pro on my jig pole, and when i hammered him, i knew i had a goodun. BG12

i got tired of breaking my line and losing jigheads. now, a couple of quick snaps, and the hook straightens out a little and up it comes:thumb: BG12

Just came in from catching a couple 2-lb bass outta my pond, had one spit the lure back at me, seen him turn in the water....3lb plus. Threw them back gonna catch and fry later this week.:thumb:

I did not take any pictures but my boy and I caught some big slabs thursday, had seventeen one was big enough to put a small styrofoam cup in its mouth. Caught only nine big ones saturday morning. Caught a ton of small bass each day. Thursday morning had two turkeys that gobbled on eiother side of the lake till about 9AM I mean they hammered all morning even after they came off the roost nothing better than gobbling bird big crappie and my boy with me.

A 16" crappie??? Dangit boy, I'd put that one on the wall! :eek:

My best catfish weighed a little over 7 lbs. according to the 1914 model antique scales my dad had......but I'm thinking more like 25 lbs. or so....you know how those pictures sometimes "shrink" the subject. :cool:

Only thing I can't figure out was why the fish shrank so much in the pic, but me and my brother seemed to gain 40 lbs. :smack:

took my Anna girl monday evening over there for about 30 minutes. she caught 3 bass, i caught two bream about 9 inches:eek: another big crappie and about 10 bass. threw all of them back, til next time i get hungry for fish:thumb: BG12
