I am heading to fish Greers this weekend for the first time this year. I have been on Monticello the past few weekends but its time for a trip to the lakehouse.

So what are they biting? Last year around this time I caught most of them on Drop Shot and even Senkos.

Been hearing about some bass on jerkbaits, but the whites are running stong, so if you can't get the bass to bite head up river, everyone I've talked to says they're catching about as many hybrids as white up in the rivers.

I didn't make in the rivers for hybrids or white's BUT I should have. I couldn't pattern the bass at all. Usually this time of the year, jig head worms and drop shot will produce. This week last year me and my buddy caught about 30 on this combo.

This weekend, I threw jig head worm, drop shot, flukes, senkos, rat-l-trap, and even carolina rigged. I should have gone after the crappie. I had 4 or 5 follow my rat-l-trap to the boat. They were in the trees and were pretty aggressive...although they never actually hit the bait.

My son and I went over there Saturday afternoon. We caught several bass in the slot and released them. They were hitting a silver crank bait and most of the hits were on shallow points. I used a crawdad style jig and got a couple over 16 inches and one good slab crappie. I kept these three fish for a meal. It was rather cold and the fishing was slow so we did not stay more than 4-5 hours on the Lake. Water temperature was 58 degrees. :thumb:
