View Full Version : Bowfishing
Some of my students asked me if you have to have a hunting and fishing license to bow fish or just a fishing license? I looked on the AGFC website but couldn't find anything. Does anyone know what the rules are on this?

Bowfishing would be covered under the Archery hunting license[Sportsman's] I would think, but anytime[you take fish] you would need a fishing license[Sportsman's] so looks like one and one equals two[Sportsman's License]...used to be $35.00, no telling what it is now! JMO~john

I would think you just need a fishing license. In that situation, the archery equipment would be considered, fishing tackle. Don't bank on my word on this though. A WO once told me that frog hunting with a bow would only require a fishing license.
