Anyone out there do any flyfishing on the Little Red? Planning a trip there and would appreciate a little info! I have fish below Sugar Loaf but only with spinning gear just abov the catch and release areas. I heard something about Libby Shoals?

I was under the impression there are still a few Small Mouth Bass in the Red. I know the cold water kills the spawn , but the creeks should keep a few there. I hear of trout fishermen catching a few on the Spring and White. A guy told us there were none there.

murdam, try Cow Shoals. The Brown Trout spawn ended some time back but you can still catch a few on egg patterns. Right now they are turning the generators on at about 6:00 am. So if you want to wade you had better start at first light. It will take the high water a couple or three hours to get to cow shoals. Midge are hatching well on sunny days, so you might try them also. And if those don't work you can try sow bugs.
