As soon as I get my jon boat put back together!
I always wanted to rig up a boat myself. I had a good 1448 that was open, which most people prefer, but I really like one a little longer with benches so everyone isn't cramed sitting beside each other. I bought a 16 footer last year that is pretty much what I wanted, I took out all the old seats and plywood floors and bought some duck boat paint at cabelas. We painted the inside around the first of the year and its either been raining or too cold to paint the rest every weekend since :smack:
The boat didn't leak, but I've put a dab of Gorilla glue on underside on each rivet and am going to paint over it, bought paint, 3 camo cushioned seats, and I'm going to buy a trolling motor for it this weekend and then I figured since I got all this for it, I needed a boatcover to protect it, probably more effort than a 1956 jon boat is worth, but it should be rigged out for a nice trout fishing boat to get out on the Little Red and White .
