Has anybody been catchin any bass or fishin any tourneys on lake poinsett

One of my friends fished a bass tournament on Poinsett, this past weekend. He said it was really slow!

He did tell me a story about 2 young boys sinking a boat out there. He said they loaded all their stuff in a small 14 ft. jon boat and headed out across the lake.....wasn't long and they sunk it.....and they didn't even have any life jackets. One of the guys fishing in the tournament picked them up and hauled them in. :smack:

Not good on the guys in the boat, but stupid for no life jackets, as cold as it is they wouldn't have made it to the bank.

I haven't heard anything on Poinsett either, not on my top 10.

I picked up a couple of guys that turned their boat over a few years back on Horseshoe by Hughes. The guy started his motor---at full throttle---and of course lost control of the tiller handle and both wound up in the COLD lake. Good thing somebody was there. The younger of the two had a life jacket on, but the operator didn't. That's one reason why I teach boating education classes! Wear your lifejackets!!!!
