Top bass was on a deliar and weighed 11 lb 5 ounce ....... the bottom fish was 11 lb 9 ounce so I turned her loose. Middle bass was my Dad's 11 pound 5 ounce Arkansas fish.
Looking back, I'm certain now this bass (28" long) was over 12 pounds (same fish as top photo in the collage)

Good deal on turning her back, good job.:thumb:
I am thinking if I ever catch a big one I will weigh it and let it go and do the replica, no sense in destroying such a fish if you don't have to. Right
Great fish , tell us a fish story.:thumb:

fish story ?
my uncles use to go to lake Fork every year, he's a bassaholic. they discovered the amazing live waterdogs, this was in the early 1990's, and got contacts for getting them in Nebraska and Colorado.
the 11 lb 9 ounce fish might have been the first year I fished with them. He and I were in the front of the boat, and we were working an old fence line with huge oaks still standing. Maybe 8' of water. I tossed my dawg on one side of the tree, he tossed is on the other, I hooked the fish. I remember she ran towards us, then to the back of the boat, and as she made her second run to the front he grabbed the line, lipped her and had her in the boat so quick I didn't even know what was happening ! I had that fish mounted ....... 11 lb 9 ounces
This cove is/was amazing. I could bank on a 10 pound fish and many 6-10 pound fish every day in it. Not 100 yards from where I caught the 11 lb 9 oz I took a buddy who'd never fished Fork or used waterdogs. We had caught some nice fish that day, and eased into the back of this creek channel. The channel was very narrow, but deep, maybe 8' and the flats around it only 2-3 'and there was a hug timber/tree laying in the water. I flipped a long way out, and immediately felt the "tap, tap". I told Derrick to get ready and I set the hook. She came right at the boat, and it being a long flip it took me a bit to catch up. She bent my 7' 6" rod double, right at the boat, and as she swirled he dipped her with the net. I didn't have that fish on but maye 5 second and she was out of the water !
She was huge. I'll scan a better picture of her in the next day or two if I can. 28" long if I remember, and she had girth too, busting with eggs. I had her loosely hooked in the top of the mouth and the deliar said 11 lb 5 ounce. I had an 11-9 on the wall, I hadn't had her hooked but a few seconds, shallow water, easy hook out .......... I turned her loose. In retrospect, she was over 12 pounds, I just know it. Maybe 12 1/2 ........ huge bass. We caught fish all day, I ruined Derrick on the first day fishing Fork !
That same cove is the one I absoltuely tore fish up in one day. I've got a lot of memories in that cove .......
