monticello and I'm gonna catch it on a Zara Spook in the middle of the day in late June or early July. I already know the spot where I will catch it. They will be chasing shad.
How is that for an answer?

Lake Monticello. And my buddy Johnny McDonough (JMac on here, but he's never posted) from Woodlawn will catch him. If any of you ever get a chance to drop by the Country Store on Hwy 63 just north of Woodlawn, check out his bass mounts......all from Lake Monticello. :thumb:

I've caught bass out of there in July that looked as if they were spawning. That time of year, they are feasting on shad.

No offense intended flydown, but this guy lives, breathes, sleeps, eats, bass fishin' on Lake Monticello. I too suffer from OCD (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Obsessive-compulsive_disorder), but he's even worse than me...and that's sad. I'll put it this way, he's more than "obsessed" with catching the next AR state record largemouth bass than most of us are concerned about living the next 12 months. I'm talkin' OBSESSED!

I think CP's gonna catch the next state record from that little well stocked honey hole of his that he won't disclose the location of.
Course if I get my boat going in the next month or so there's no telling what I might drag out of Lake Monticello.

All of my buddies have caught very large bass out of monticello. The largest was over 14 lbs. Everyone catches large bass out of that lake.:thumb:

Got to say I am very familiar with Austell.....I know there are some big bass in there....But it could possibly be the most pressured lake (size) that I know of...

You got that right Buzz! I remember several years when James Maners caught the 15-12 bass from Austell. I saw it and it was a monster! I've caught a few 8's from there, but haven't got the biggun in the boat yet. Isn't it a shame to have a place like this so close to home but rarely fish it???

Heck, Lake Monticello is barely 20 minutes from me and my boat hasn't been in the water in 3 years. I'm very ashamed!

Millwood Lake In Bagly Slough On A Pumpkinseed Zoom Lizard
Millwood is correct but, not Bagley Slough, there is too much silt and too much pressure there.
It will come from Mud Lake, Horseshoe Lake or on Little River.
It will more than likely come in the next 2 or 3 years with all of the 13+ pounders that have been caught the last three Springs. There have been at least 12 or more in that range over the last 3 years.
Don't forget the 10 inch Red Shad Power Worm.

TH,
Do your buddies sight fish during the spawn or do they get out there earlier than that? I think I'm gonna give it a go this year and am trying to figure out when I need to be over there.

Austell has to be the hardest lake I have ever fished. It's the deepest lake around here but it's a very small lake and like has already been stated it gets a ton of pressure.

No, they just show up and start fishing.
