Lake Ft.Smith State Park

I heard the new state park is openeing soon. Do any of ya'll know when?
Its one of my favorite fishing holes and its been closed for 4 years.
The paper said the dam will be unveiled on Oct 28th,06.
When wil the lakes open for fishing?

Man, I grew up fishing that lake almost daily as a kid in the late 70's and early 80's. I could catch 25 or 30 bass a day in the weeds on plastic worms from my Water Scamp. None were very big but it was a blast. The biggest fish I ever caught there was 5 something.

I went on a trip to visit my family and look at my old stompin grounds when folks told my what was going on at Lake Ft. Smith. I took a drive up there to look around and it was like I was on another planet.

Can't wait to go back and see it when it fills up, should be some good fishing if they are going to let people fish there.

Does anyone know if it will be open or if they will keep it closed to fishing.
