Anyone know what the deal is with Lake Conway? I went by it today, the lake is almost empty! Are they having a "drain down", or is it from the lack of rain?

I read something a while back about them wanting to clean out the boating lanes and get rid and fix up some of the docks. Also doing something about weed and lilly pad control. That might be the reason.

Great!
The lake is going to loose now! It still hadn't recovered from the last "fix the boat lane and control the lily pads" fixing!

I think I read that in an Arkansas Sportsmen magazine a few months ago. I've never fished there but I have always wanted to. I never realized how shallow it was till I drove down I-40 a few weeks ago and saw it. I know they used to catch a lot of fish there but I haven't heard anything the past couple of years.

Pretty sure the "main" reason for the drawdown is for dock construction and repair. Sorry fish, those docks come first!!:smack:

It was on the news the G/F is letting people fix there docks. G/F said there not going to start putting water back in it until Dec. So alot of people hopes it rains alot before then. I seen it on the news today and it was low. For people that fish it i hope you get some water in it before Dec.. VM

the people that fish there are probably wearing em out now with it lowered. the fish numbers haven't changed, they just have probably half the water they normally would. i had a pretty good buddy that fished it almost every day the last time they drained it, and he said it was unreal. he was getting to some of the outlying spots with a pirogue that your normal boats couldn't reach.
