I got off work early Sat. so i went to a little known lake down around Kingsland, with my brother and my nephew. We caught some really nice bass on worms, and top water just before dark. Had a great time. Anyone else doing any good with the bass?

me and arkansasbowhunter tore up the smallmouth weekend before last. we caught over 50 between the two of us. had probably 25 more that spit the lure out when they were flying through the air. caught about 25 or more bream each too. pretty good day creek fishing.

I only get on the forum on my breaks and at lunch. yeah right. xrg where do you fish for smallmouth. is it around conway? I would rather catch smallmouth than any other fish. Sounds like yall had a great time. I hope to go soon.

A3F, I can tell you where it is, but then I would have to kill you. Just kidding,Ill be glad to share. But it is way back in the woods about 10 to 15 miles down a gravel road and you have to make several turns. Heck I dont think you can get to it from where your at.

If the fishing is good enough then it might be worth it.
A buddy of mine worked for the G&F one summer while in school and they were doing some electro fishing surveys around the area. He told me that one of the places with the most good bass was one of the lakes north of Kingsland, either Grays, or one of the Canada's.
He also told me that he and some friends from Kingsland fished the lake several times that summer but never had much luck catching the fish.

I don't fish the lake much but Saterday was the first time I really have done any good. It's a great place to go if you want to be away from everyone. Lots of wildlife and some of the cypress trees there are 15 feet across at the base. We seen lots of deer and a few hogs at the edges of the lake.

Fishing a place like that is one of the great pleasures in life.
Now if you'll so politely pass the directions along to me via PM...

i'm thinking about it. whats it worth. You know I started a post asking for help to pick a new muzzleloader. HUUUM I wonder if we could work something out. Just kidding. I'll pm you and try to give you directions . The lake is kind of hard to find even when you know where it is.

Hi big shorty if you are after smallmouth come up one day and fish White River around Calico Rock or up stream. My uncle and his boy cought 150 smallmouth and turn back in 2 days on White River. They said they cought some good sizes ones. They was fishing out of a flatbttom boat. I have cought them from the bank weighting 3 pds. And turn them back. VM

varmit master, I have a place up around Marshall, how far are you from there? I would love to find a place to fish for smallies like that.

XRG, what part of the little red do you fish. The beginning of the south fork is not far from my cabin.

Hi i am for shure. I have made the trip over to Marshall when they had the Turkey calling Con. Ask Sylamore he can tell you. You can catch them off the bank if you know where to go. I have had fun catching them this yr. I am using a G Loomis 6'6 light rod With a Shimano Sarhara 1500 spinning reel with 6 pd Ber. Big Game In Shore 6 lb line and it has works good. When i live at Batesville i used to drive up to crooked creek to catch them. I think White River is far more better smallmouth water becasue there is so many of them. You can catch them on almost any thing and anywhere there is rocks. . But when i fish for them i like to finsse fish with a lizard or worm or a hula grub. VM
