Flatside Pinnacle/Crystal Prong creek

About 25 hikers showed up today to take in the beauty of Flatside Pinnacle and later hike down to Crystal Prong Creek. We started our short climb this muggy, hazy day, toward the top and most of these people said this was their first good sweat on a hiking trip so far this year.Hiking and warm weather are a bad mix. Saw several Turkey hunters out on the back roads today as well a sone Gobbler.

After the trip down the Mt., we started a downhill trip of 2 miles to Crystal Prong creek. Only bad part was we had to back track out. The trip started out slightly boring, Pine Forest, but the scenary got better as we got into more hardwood. Roughly 3/4 mile down the trail and we started seeing a few creeks mixed with more hardwood and the scenary kept getting better as we go. We reached the end of the hike at Crystal prong creek. They say a picture is worth 1000 words but the pictures did not do this place justice.
