Met up with 6 hikers from the Ouachita Mt Hiking club at the Lake Sylvia Trailhead today. There was about a 60% chance of rain at departure time, but we set out any way. Covered a little over 5 miles through hardwood forest in about 2.5 hours, exiting at the hwy 9 trailhead parking lot and no rain, just a sprinkle or two. Nice day for a hike in the woods, not to hot or cold. At 43, I was the youngster on this trip but these guys hike at the pace of a 25 year old.
