For the outdoor people that dont always require a gun or fishing pole when enjoying GOD's nature, the DemaZett has an article on outdoors on Mondays.Good article today on hiking Fern Gulley(never been there myself). Also had some info on Mt biking trails of which I do very little and usually something on canoeing/kayaking, though we have been in a drought since about mid April. Some other topics also.

Bird Dog.I hunt around Fern. I camp on that road 1544 but never have seen the gulch. Plan on finding it. Probably been real close, theres not much of that I have'nt walked. If you ever go look for it take some camping gear and stay the weekend. Be sure its after a bunch of rain. There are alot of waterfalls within a few miles of this place. Tim Ernst waterfall book would be a big help if you have one and a GPS. Devils Falls is within 2 miles of Fern. On up the mountain is a bunch more falls that are in his book. It would be almost impossable to hit them all in just one weekend, but in would be a good start. If you ever need directions or anything get a hold of me, I pratically live up there during the weekends.

I guess the closest I have been to that area is a float trip down the Mulberry several years back. I have read a couple of "trip report" posted on Ozark whitewater by some of Arkansas more prominet Kayakers know as Fish and Lazer.Fern Gulley is a class V run while I normally stay on class ll and ocasionally class lll. And yes,in fact I do have a GPS and the waterfall book. Seems like there was an article on Devils Den a few weeks ago, also right there in your back yard.

Devils Den is a good hour drive from Fern. But Devils Canyon Falls is a 63ft waterfall. I would post a picture of it, but do not have them anymore.

Devils den is a great area but they like for you to stay close to thir trails which are used often. I have land and hunt just a few miles from there.
