I went up and looked at it a few weeks ago. It is going to be nice. The view of Blue MT lake is great. I picked up a price sheet and I feel it will be priced a little to high for most Arkansans. It should be a good draw for flat landers from out of state.

All it needs now is a whitewater course. Pump the water up from Blue MT. lake and ride back down on innertubes or canoes.

I am anxious to see it. I worked on the Mt. Magazine Ranger for four years (1970-74) and was the director of the YCC (Youth Conservation Corps) camp that built two of the rock walls along the overlooks on the north side of the mountain and the hiking trail to the highest point on the mountain. I also developed an interpretive plan for the Forest Service for the mountain top and its developments.
The YCC camps were great. There 28 teenagers (14 boys, 14 girls) that enrolled in a residential, 7day/week, 8 week camp. We used 8 of the old cabins and the old employee dorm as the camp facilities. The teens earned a good salary and learned a lot about the environment and the value of hard work. It would be great if we could have a YCC reunion up there sometime. It would also be great to have a AH.net forum get together up there sometime.

I've driven by a few times throughout construction. That is one impressive lodge! I can imagine the view from the upper floors balcony. But, I checked the prices and may have to save and wait a while.
